Minnesota state law for x-ray film and other medical records retention periodAccording to the Minnesota Office of the Revisor of Statutes, hospitals and healthcare providers are required to retain x-ray films and medical records for a minimum duration of seven years following the most recent patient visit. That adult's medical records will be kept for 7 years The MN state also requires that minor's medical records will be kept until the minor becomes 19 years old.
